Derrick Mayes
Derrick Mayes, CEO and Director of ExecutiveAction Sports and Entertainment, has unique experience at the highest level of sports, entertainment and business. He spent six years in the NFL as a wide receiver with the Green Bay Packers and the Seattle Seahawks. Since his NFL retirement, Mayes has worked in all aspects of film and television, from on-camera as an actor, host and commentator to behind the camera as a director and producer.
Under the coaching of Lou Holtz at Notre Dame, Mayes became the school's all-time leading receiver, surpassing such greats as Raghib "Rocket" Ismail, Tom Gatewood and Heisman Trophy winner Tim Brown. After graduation, he was drafted by the Green Bay Packers. In his first year on the team, the Green Bay Packers won Super Bowl XXXI and the NFC championship the following season.
Mayes begin his sports entertainment career as host for CSTV's weekly series "Notre Dame Primetime," along with studio guest appearances for ESPN's "Cold Pizza," and FOX's "Best Damn Sports Show." He went on to direct a BET Network original series and was producer for a nationally syndicated series.
On the business front, Mayes has funded an Internet website, and a real estate development group that currently owns property throughout the U.S. In the sponsorship and fundraising industry, Mayes has garnered over several million dollars.
Mayes has been featured in numerous TV programs, news articles, magazines, and books. He is currently publishing "Beyond the Playbook" through Ave Maria Press. He has a B.S. in Film and Television from the University of Notre Dame ('96).
