Leo Yakutis

Leo Yakutis, Executive Vice President of Information Strategies and Services, has vast expertise and experience in IT problem-solving management and project support of Fortune 100 computer systems and networks.

Mr. Yakutis began his IT career with Microsoft where he was a top contributor at the company in product support and problem solving for 11 years.

Mr. Yakutis was a member of the company’s first corporate support team and first networking support team. He helped Microsoft innovate appropriate support services as computer systems and networks expanded in size and complexity in the marketplace.

His positions at Microsoft included Program Manager developing new manager training, Operating Systems Team Manager, Visual Interdev Team Manager, MSMQ Team Manager, interim Group Manager, and Network Support Engineer, Beta Support Lead.

Mr. Yakutis was the first Alliance Support Professional (now Dedicated Support Engineering) for Windows to be sent by Microsoft to companies to conduct proactive support and supportability reviews at the technical level.

Mr. Yakutis managed 70 internal support professionals and more than 300 out-source partner support professionals at three different vendors during the launch of Windows 2000. For Windows 2000 he led the execution of 31 training days per person for more than 3,000 support professionals located in 22 countries, consultants, and auxiliary staff.

After leaving Microsoft, Mr. Yakutis has provided consulting and program management for numerous projects and companies. For clients, he has provided expertise on a range of issues, including forensics, intrusion detection, deployment of a residential fiber optic network, consulting to museums, server security analyses, development of data centers and website analysis. Mr. Yakutis was Senior Program Manager at Cybrinth, LLC and was most recently was Senior Vice President of Data Security at GlobalOptions, Inc., International Strategies.

Mr. Yakutis continues to maintain a community service focus. He has served on the Foundation Board for the Cultural and Heritage Museums of York County, South Carolina, providing technical insights into the construction of a 60 million dollar museum project. He and his family are active members in International House for Charlotte, North Carolina and the Gastonia, NC Sister Cities Program.

Mr. Yakutis has a MS in Information Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (1991), MA of Arts in History from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (2006), with BAs in History and American Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (1988).
